Immunisation opportunities: COVID-19, flu and measles
Te Piki Oranga works with Kotahi Te Tauihu Charitable Trust, Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough Health and primary health organisations to protect you and your whānau from:
COVID-19
Influenza (flu)
Measles, mumps and rubella.
We do this by offering immunisation against these diseases, from our hauora hubs in Whakatū, Motueka or Wairau, or at one of our regular community clinics listed below.
Protecting our whānau is what we do
We can be proud of what we have done to protect each other from COVID-19 and other infectious viruses like flu. Let’s not waste our hard mahi.
If you are unsure about vaccination, we are happy to kōrero with you and listen to your pātai (questions). Phone 0800 ORANGA (672 642).
You can also talk with a health professional on the COVID-19 vaccination helpline. You can kōrero in Te Reo Māori and someone is available to talk from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Phone 0800 28 29 26.
Your questions about vaccination
It is normal to have questions about vaccination, in particular the COVID-19 vaccine. We have provided answers to some of the most common questions our nurses have been helping whānau with, such as:
How do we know it is safe?
How does the vaccine help protect us?
Are there any side effects?

Where to get your vaccine
COVID-19: We offer the Pfizer vaccine to anyone aged five years or older. Booster vaccines are available to anyone aged 18 or older. If you would prefer the AstraZeneca vaccine, use the Book My Vaccine website to find the closest provider to you.
Te Piki Oranga provides vaccination at regular walk-in community clinics, but you may be able to get your free vaccine from other providers sooner. Find the closest clinic to you from the Book My Vaccine website.
FLU: You can get your flu vaccination at any time during the year. Te Piki Oranga is currently providing the flu vaccine at the community clinics listed below, or you can also ask your GP or pharmacist. Here is more information about immunisation against the flu.
MEASLES, MUMPS AND RUBELLA (MMR): If you were born after 1969 you might not have had both doses of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine. We provide MMR vaccination at our regular walk-in community clinics, or get in touch with us to find out your options. Here is more information about the MMR vaccine.
