Wae Wae/Podiatry Clinics Well Supported

Te Piki Oranga (Whakatū) have been holding three monthly Podiatry Clinic’s with Podiatrist, Justin Powell.

This Mahi supports the Disease State Management Contract with Nelson Marlborough District Health Board and supports whānau who have Diabeties, Cardio Vascular Disease, Respitory disease, Circularity problems and Cancer.

Whānau who have difficulties with their health and cannot seek or access Podiatry services, are also encouraged to attend the Podiatry Clinic. We run two clinics side by side. One is for those whānau that the nurses have identified require podiatry support by Justin. The other is to assess whānau that might require only nurse intervention.

On a clinic day we have about 40 whānau through these two clinics. Thank you for the Mahi done by the team. Flo, who supports getting the kai prepared. Walter, Rana and Trudy for transporting Whānau to and from appointments. Registered Nurse Ngarie-Dawn, enrolled Nurse Shelley Carter and Pukenga Manaaki Gloria Eggeling. Also the rest of the Kaimahi for general support with whānau on the day.

Next Podiatry to be held on August 16, 2016.
