More information about the Healthy Homes Initiative
The Healthy Homes Initiative was established in 2013 by Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora.
Originally available only to whānau in some regions, it was expanded to a nationwide service in 2022 after an evaluation of the first three years of the service showed that:
the number of Healthy Homes service users needing hospital care was reduced by 19.8 percent
that when whānau did need hospital care, their illness was less severe and their time in hospital was shorter
