Specialist mental health and addiction services to those eligible whānau who are most severely affected by mental health and addiction

We ensure whānau will have timely access to high-quality, trustworthy, responsive services ranging across the spectrum of promotion and prevention, through to primary, community/NGO, specialist and regional services.

The objectives of mental health and addiction services are to:

  • Support whānau to make informed choices

  • Reduce inequalities

  • Promote seamless and integrated services

  • Value lived experience, enabling those with lived experience of mental illness and addiction to contribute to services in a variety of ways

Whakaurunga paearu - How to access

Adult Mental Health is by referral through Te Whatu Ora/Health NZ mental health specialist services. Referrals to all other services may be made from any source, including self-referral.
