Ratonga Whāinga / Service Users

The services provided are targeted primarily for Māori Koroua and Kuia residing in Te Tau Ihu but do not exclude people of other cultures. The definition of Koroua and Kuia is not limited by age, however this service requirement limits this service to those people 55 years and older.

Ratonga Whāinga / Service Objectives

The aim of the service is to reduce inequalities of care to Koroua and Kuia by improving the knowledge and understanding of Māori and whānau about healthcare services available, improving health literacy, identifying unmet need and enabling access and utilisation of these services for Koroua and Kuia.
